Located in Memphis, TN, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was founded in 1962 by entertainer, Danny Thomas. St. Jude currently serves as one of the world's premier centers for research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children - primarily pediatric cancers.

With more than 4,700 patients currently in active status, progress in research and treatment has helped increase overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20% in 1962 to more than 70%

OVER THE PAST DECADE,

the Theta Alpha chapter

of Delta Delta Delta has

continued to strengthen

its commitment to St.

Jude by raising funding

and awareness for the

cause through various annual philanthropic events.  In the last two years alone, the Tri Deltas at the University of Washington have raised over $50,000 in support of the advancement of research and care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

'Spike it'

The spring quarter fraternity volleyball tournament takes place each May at Denny Field on the North side of campus. Teams take part in a 2-day competition for the championship.

Holiday Silent Auction

Each December, guests have the opportunity to bid on a variety of items: ranging from Seahawks tickets and video games to spa treatments and vacation getaways - all thanks to the generous donations of local businesses and Tri Delta alumnae of the Greater Seattle Area. Since its introduction in 2007, the event has raised more than $35,000.

Pancakes @ Midnight

The late-night "breakfast for dinner" event is a new tradition that occurs during winter quarter. Everyone from the community is invited to join in the festivities, which include bottomless pancakes and refreshments, in addition to numerous raffle prizes. So far, the event has raised over $6,000 in support of St. Jude.
